Twilighting on the Job: Another Buzztime Guru Perk!

One of my favorite parts of this Trivia Guru gig is getting to spend time with our players… especially when we get to celebrate their Buzztime victories! As part of the Guru Giveaway that we ran in May, we gave away a trip to Los Angeles to see The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on Opening Day in Hollywood. I was lucky enough to join our winner, Renee, and her daughter Amanda for the big event… and it was awesome!

After winning the competition with a PERFECT score, we got down to the business of setting up the perfect Hollywood experience for our winners. Renee and Amanda got into L.A. a day early and were put up at the swanky Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, smack in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. They took in the sights, including the wax museum and Universal Studios and, based on their pictures, they really lived it up!

On Wednesday, June 30, I drove up to L.A. with my fellow Twilight-obsessed co-worker Christine and met Renee and Amanda for a late-afternoon screening of the movie… and I am happy to say it exceeded my expectations, which is hard to do, since Eclipse is my favorite Twilight book and I am very picky about the details! After a wonderful dinner at the Saddle Ranch (we couldn’t get Amanda to ride the mechanical bull, but we tried!) and an amusing experience involving karaoke with a live band, we topped off the night with the largest cotton candy dessert I have ever seen (apparently, it’s a Saddle Ranch specialty). A great night… a great player… another great time!

The moral of this story: You actually CAN win with Buzztime! You might be the next lucky winner to get whisked off to somewhere fabulous, just for coming out to play.
