Thursday, 06 January 2011 13:31

We just released this first version of the new Buzztime Community Features and in the near future will be adding more cool tools for you to use, play with and enjoy. What is in this version?Invite Friends!

Invites:

With the new Buzztime Community Features you will be able to import your email contacts (gmail, yahoo, MSN/Live and Hotmail) and send personal invites to any of your friends that have, for whatever reason, not registered at Buzztime yet.

Also, you will receive PlayersPlus points through the Refer a Friend program for every person that accepts your invite! From now through the end of February receive 10,000 PlayersPlus points when the friends you invite complete their Buzztime registration!

Buddies:Add Buddies!

Your Buzztime Buddy List is a great way to monitor your performance and see how you stack up against all of the people on your Buddy List. Who is on your Buddy List?

As soon as a friend accepts your invite they get put on your Buddy List. You can also use the Player Search to look for current Buzztime players that you want to be buddies with. Your Buddy List will show and compare the average scores and number of games played for all the players on your Buddy List. You can also select a game from the drop down to see how you and your buddies rank on that specific game.

Groups:

Create Groups! You can join or create Public or Private groups. What are the differences?

    Public Group:
  • Anyone can join!
  • Does not have an Administrator
  • Once created they cannot be deleted or edited
  • Example of a public group: Football Fanatics (anyone who loves Football can join!)

  • Private Group:
  • You must request to join
  • Creator of the Group will be the Administrator
  • All requests to join will be sent to the Admin for acceptance or denial
  • Example of a Private Group: Bob's Brilliant Buddies (only Bob's friends are accepted)

Groups are a way for you to compete against Buzztime players that are not at your local bar and not on your Buddy list (although you could add any of them to your Buddy list if you wanted to). Groups also functions as a way for you to find and compete against like-minded Buzztime players with similar interests. Here are some examples of current Groups you can find now:

  • Totally Awesome So Cal Players (Public): So if you are a Buzztime player in Southern California you should check out this group and see how you compare to other Socal Buzztime Junkies! Or if you are not from Souther California and want to see how you compare to Socal players then you should join!
  • BWW Trivia players (Public): Play Buzztime at a BWW location? Join this group!
  • Trendalicious Fans (Public): Do you love Trendaclious?!See how you compare to other Trendalicious fans in other Buzztime games like Six and Countdown!
  • i openers (Private): This group is for "Males, females who share wisdom in fine cuisine and hockey knowledge. Interior workplace humor is a prerequisite". Fit the build? Ask to join the Group!

What I really love about groups is before the new Buzztime Community features, I was only able to compare my score to players at my local bar or against the National Leaderboard; With Groups I can join as many different small networks of Buzztime players as I want and see how I perform and compare to them!

So check out the new Buzztime Community Features! We'd love for you to be one of our Buzztime Lab Rats (aka focus testers) so you can give us feedback and let us know what you think! If you have any questions please check out our Community Features FAQ page.

Create, connect and compete with the new Buzztime Community Features!

Until next time... Good luck and Good fun!
