FAQrules

  1. Be Kind to Your Fellow Buzztime Players! We are all involved with Buzztime games to have fun so please bring a pleasant attitude with you to our boards. Say hi to new members and make the boards a bigger and better place to spend time online! The more players we have on the boards the better the discussions will be!

  2. Help Your Fellow Buzztime Players! Our staff can’t always be around to answer questions, so if you know the answer… please, speak up! Your fellow players will appreciate it!

  3. Keep Criticism Constructive: We all want to make Buzztime better, and the best way for you to help us do that is to voice your opinion. But please, while we enjoy the comments, suggestions and ideas we gladly appreciate you making your statements in a nice professional manner. It helps us more clearly understand what you are saying and we are more willing to work with people who can correspond properly.

  4. Be Civil: We’re not always going to agree, but we can have civil debates which are constructive and enjoyable to all members involved. There are ways to get your point across without being rude and/or offensive.

  5. Don’t Spam: Please keep discussions on topic! Before you post make sure you’re in the correct forum and only post information that is relevant to the topic at hand. We have a special Off Topic forum for anything that doesn’t fit in the other forums.

  6. Don’t Troll: This pretty much goes along the same lines as number 1 and 3. Trolling is basically just wandering around and picking at people just to be mean, rude or offensive. If you don’t like someone just keep it to yourself or PM a moderator to have a situation resolved.

  7. Don’t Cuss or Post Inappropriate Material: Just as it sounds, don’t use bad words, sayings, phrases, images, jokes, etc. that you would normally avoid around a family. This is an all-ages board and so the discussions should reflect this.

  8. Private Message a Moderator or Admin: We’re here to help you! If you are having a situation, problem, issue, whatever… just PM us! No need to make a post on a board about a fellow player or some other bothersome issue. The issue will be resolved faster and without making a spectacle on the board if you just let us know personally.

  9. You CAN Ignore People: Let’s face it, sometimes we just get bothered by certain people. Fortunately Buzztime offers an ignore feature so you don’t have to bother reading from people who you don’t agree with. Just click on a username, click on view public profile and in the dark blue banner immediately below your username it will say "Add ***** to Your Ignore List". Click on this and that person's posts will no longer show on your screen.

  10. Don’t Use the Forums to Inquire about Careers: To inquire about employment with Buzztime please use our corporate website at buzztime.com/join-the-team.html for employment opportunities.

  11. Do Not Advertise: Do not use these forums to advertise your product, service or other goods. This goes for posting links in your signature. If we notice you using our boards as a place to gain business, your posts will be deleted and proper action will be taken.

  12. Do Not Post Exploits, Cheats or Hacks: We would like the forum to be a place for everyone to enjoy and therefore do not condone the use of exploits, cheats or hacks. This includes the use of computers during game play. If we see posts discussing the use of these your post will be deleted and proper action will be taken. Please do not accuse people of this openly on the boards. If you wish to make the Buzztime team aware of issues like this please send us a private message.

  13. Do Not Discuss Your Buzztime Contract: Whether you are a home install or a retail establishment please do not discuss any terms of your Buzztime contract on this board. Instead please login to my.buzztime.com/support/contact and use the contact form there, or call customer service at 1-800-745-4686

  14. POSTING ETIQUETTE: Here are some rules to follow when posting. Stick to these and people won’t get annoyed with you! Don’t follow these rules and you’ll face deleted posts and violation warnings.

    1. Don’t make multiple posts on the same subject unless your post is clearly different in some way. If there’s already a post out there talking about what you want to talk about... Join it!!
    2. Stay on topic. We already mentioned it, but it’s a big one. Stay on the topic you are posting in. If your discussion starts to split simply start that part of the discussion in another thread where it makes sense and link to it in the old thread so people can continue the original discussion. If you notice a topic that has derailed just PM a moderator and we will split it for you.
    3. Don’t bump threads. Bumping a thread is basically finding an old thread and posting nonsense (like “bump”) in it just to get it at the top of the list again. If you have something relevant to say, say it. Otherwise maybe it’s time for that thread to die.
    4. Do not post the same thing in multiple places. If we see duplicates we will delete them and warn you.
    5. Keep topics and posts for everyone to reply. If you want to direct something at a specific person then please use a private message instead.

  15. Buzztime Reserves the Right to... Buzztime and its administrators, moderators and other staff reserve the right to screen, edit or delete any content, issue warnings, ban users, merge multiple accounts and delete accounts at any time for any reason in our sole and absolute discretion without notice.

  16. CONSEQUENCES FOR VIOLATING FORUM RULES: We work on a 3-strike rule here for basic violations, although we reserve the right to ban people immediately without warning if the violation is severe enough. Similarly we may issue a warning that does not count as a strike when a violation is extremely minor. Basic violations work like this:

    • Warning – Private message warning from Buzztime Staff or Moderator. Extremely minor violation that does not go on your record.
    • Strike One – Private message warning from Buzztime Staff or Moderator. Violation 1 goes on your record.
    • Strike Two – Private message warning from Buzztime Staff or Moderator. Violation 2 goes on your record.
    • Strike Three You’re OUT – Ban from the website. Depending on the violation this is either a permanent ban or a timed ban (i.e. 24 hours, 1 week, etc.) We will attempt to email you in the event of a ban as your account will be inactive when you try to log in next.
    • Strike Four After a Temporary Ban – If your ban was temporary and you violate the rules again your account will be permanently banned.
    • Strike Four After a Permanent Ban – Any further abuse of the rules after a permanent ban will result in a permanent, irreversible deletion of ALL of your PlayersPlus accounts.

NOTE: Our strike/ban system is affective across all of your accounts. If you have multiple usernames and are getting strikes under different usernames, this is being noted. Once you accumulate 3 strikes across all of your online accounts all accounts may be banned at the same time.
