Agree with Steve and TLEARY. Books and authors, music and musicians, and the arts in general have always had a place in Showdown; especially if the question deals with something or someone that/who has been around long enough to have passed into the common knowledge, or is newsworthy enough to rate a lot of media coverage.

As we all know, there have always been Showdown questions about classic music and composers, famous paintings and artists, and literature and authors. Why shouldn't Rod Stewart (recording artist for 30+ years), Edgar Wallace (1920s mystery genre author), and Paranormal Activity (newsworthy) all belong? It would seem to me that if the questions about these people and things were general enough and/or newsworthy enough (and they were), then they should be challenging but not impossible to the trivia player with a reasonable store of common knowledge.
