Smile Invitation Tourney BWW Woodridge, IL Tues Nov 3, 2009

First Tuesday NTN Invitational tournament at BWW Woodridge, IL.

All are invited to gather on the platform at BWW Woodridge, Route 53 and Woodridge Drive to an evening of fun playing as the group as a whole attempts to rank the bar at the top of the national boards.

To do so, in additional to the "regulars" of this location, some of the best NTN-ers in the area are also invited. Not only is is fun to get a great group of players together, but it is nice to put a face to the screen name.

Our gang used to do this on a regular basis, but just started up again last month. This informal gathers are a lot of fun.

Individual play is certainly allowed, but as a courtesy probably not best to have a seat on the platform.

Gather about 6:45-ish, and we will play till after the big game.

BWW will be the gracious host and provide a bit of goodies.

Kindly drop me an email, so we can give our hosts a count. (ms2728@aol.com)

BWW has said they will make sure enough boards are there, so please rsvp to me with the handles of all in your group intending on coming.

Thanks..

Mike

Thumbs up A Great Time Was Had By All!

The first of what I hope will be many BWW Woodridge Tourneys was held November 3rd.
The team of great players from all over the "Chicagoland" area did quite well. The host, BWW was very gracious and provided many great prizes. This will continue on the first Tuesday of the month from here to we hope eternity. Did I forget something? Oh yes, some guy named XNZONE did an awesome job also. So ya'll come back next time hear and bring some friends.

Default Thanks...

Some guy.....hmphh. : - )

It was a lot of fun, with a fun group.

It is always nice to get a count for each tourney, so I invite everyone that would like to come in December to drop me a message.

NTN staff are, as always, also welcome to drop on by.

Did you see all the BUZZTIME attire VAPID had?

Default The platform...

Within BWW Woodridge there exists a special place-- a place were one can view 4 big screens and 9 small screens without turning your head. A place set off the the rest of the bar by railing. A place made great by the monthly legendary NTN matches of years gone and months yet to arrive. A place where the women all seem to beam a bit more, where the men all seem to be a bit more proud, where the NTN challenge cuts the air, as a lusty group cries out in unison: "next game for the championship of the universe!"

A place known as "the platform."

It is also has a floor level raised up a couple of feet from the rest of the establishment's floor level.

Just two steps up, but graced by the spirit of those who from time to time for a few hours at time enjoyed the ambiance of "the platform."

Default Report on the tourney

During the evening of November 3, 2009, a total of 29 players gathered to enjoy the hospitality of BWW Woodridge while competing as a group against other locations throughout the North American Continent.

Although not always finishing in first place among the thousands of competing locations, the group consistently finished in the top 100. Highlights of the competition include 2 perfect player scores.

Participants included not only the regulars from BWW Woodridge, but guests from other Illinois locations, including BWW Elmhurst, Pete & Johnny's of Lisle, BWW Naperville, Cheers Sports Bar of Brookfield, BWW Bolingbrook, Metro of Chicago, Neutral Zone of Westmont, and the Lodge of Lisle.

Some of BWW Woodridge power house players couldn't make it this time. They include POPE, RICHEK, RHOUL, BABS, and STAR. Not only does this group bring great NTN skills, but assists in creating an interesting ambiance within the facility. See you guys next month. Of course, though absent, BWW regulars -the FROLIC group- is always capable of making the location rank.

The top finishers in the "big game" were ETHRNT (BWW Elm), ILLINI (BWW Elm), XNZONE (BWW Wdg), DUDE (BWW Wdg) YZERMN (P&J), SWTNSER (BWW Naper), VERN, (BWW BB), HAPPY (BWW Wdg), ZENO (BWW Wdg), and ROBINI (BWW Wdg)

Again, thanks to BWW Woodridge, and it's management team for hosting the event in addition to providing food and prizes. Your demonstrations of appreciation of the patronage of this group is greatly valued.

From the comments that night, looks like the next "First Tuesday," December 1, 2009 will have an even larger group.

Stay tune for details.

Thanks.

Mike

Sounds like you all had fun! The long drive notwithstanding, MALU and I are currently planning to be there for the December event, unless our teammates want to compete in the SD tournament.

When I started reading that I thought maybe it was a Beach Boys Triviaoke question.

Anyway, I hope to get over there one of these months.
