Q: What is a Playmaker?
A: A Playmaker is the wireless device (AKA: the blue box) found in all Buzztime locations. It is used to interact with Buzztime games via dedicated TV screens in the establishment. You can also use your iPhone and iPod Touch as a Mobile Playmaker, and some of our locations have a new touchscreen Tablet Playmaker!
Q: What if my Home Site has one (or more) Playmaker that doesn't work?
A: Please contact us for any inquiries about bad Playmakers at your home site.
Q: What if my Playmaker battery dies while I'm playing?
A: If your Playmakers goes dead while you are playing you will automatically be logged out. Simply log back in to another Playmaker and pick up where you left off! Our system will continue you where you logged out. Similarly if you log in to another Playmaker before logging out of your current one, your current session will end and you will be logged into the new Playmaker.
Q: What is the C or s that I see on the Playmaker screen?
A: The C or s will let you know if the Playmaker is in CAPS (C) or small/lowercase (s) mode. Push the Caps Lock or Shift (depending upon your Playmaker model) to change the case. This button is "sticky", meaning it functions like a Caps Lock on a computer keyboard.
Q: I'm having trouble logging in on the Playmaker, have any tips?
A: There are a few common errors we have seen with players entering their information on the Playmakers.
- Make sure you are entering your Username and Password account information and not a PIN/Handle (if you registered prior to 7/8/09). If you enter old PIN/Handle information in the Username/Password fields, you will get an error message. Simply create a new account and contact us to combine the two accounts for you.
- Check whether the Caps Lock or Shift (depending upon your Playmaker model) is on. This button is "sticky", meaning it functions like a Caps Lock on a computer keyboard. As Passwords are case-sensitive, this is most likely the reason why you are getting an error message.
- If you are entering Username/Password on the Playmaker correctly and are getting an error message, the Buzztime location you are playing at is most likely having connectivity issues.
- If you've tried all these options, you know the site is connected, and are still having issues, please contact us and we'll try to solve your issue.
Q: Can I use my laptop or mobile device as a Playmaker?
We currently offer a free Mobile Playmaker app for your iPhone or iPod touch, and are working on an application for the Android Device. At this time we do not offer an application for your laptop or other devices.
