RaceDay FAQ

RaceDay

RaceDay Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is RaceDay?
A: Race Day is Buzztime's NASCAR game where players will not only predict certain aspects of the race, but also compete in a 30 minute NASCAR-themed trivia game, on Saturday of race weekends, at 2pm ET/ 11am PT.

Q: When can I play RaceDay?
A: You have two choices. Your first opportunity is to make your predictions on the Playmaker usually about an hour after qualifying is complete. The second option is to play the On-Demand 30-minute RaceDay Prediction Show at your favorite Buzztime restaurant or bar.

Q: When can I play RaceDay Trivia?
A: RaceDay Trivia runs at 2pm ET/ 11am PT on Saturday of race weekends, regardless of when the actual race is. Players who play RaceDay Trivia will have their Trivia Score added to their Prediction Score for their overall score. The RaceDay trivia game is comprised of current and historical NASCAR questions.

Q: What kind of race predictions can I make?
A: There are three types of questions which include predicting the finishing order of the Top-10, predicting elements of the race ranging from what driver will be leading at certain points in the race, as well as some over/under predictions on race speed, time and caution flags.

  • Predict the Top-10 drivers.
    • 175 points are awarded for picking the winning car number.
    • You also receive an additional five bonus points for the car's original qualifying position (ex. If the car started on the pole, 5 pts (total 180) or if the car started 30th, 150 pts (total 325)).
    • Additional bonus points are earned for picking six or more of the Top-10 cars.

  • How many Lead Changes will occur in the race?
    • You will earn 175 points for an exact prediction and lose five points for each number you select over or under the actual.

  • Which Driver will lead the most laps?
    • Your driver will accumulate one point for each lap they lead in the race.

  • How many Non-finishers will there be?
    • You will earn 175 points for an exact prediction and lose five points for each number you select over or under the actual.

  • Who will be leading at five different "milestone" checkpoints during the race?
    • You will receive 35 points if you pick the correct driver at each respective milestone as well as 10 bonus points if your driver gets a different milestone.

  • Which car will improve their position the most during the race?
    • Your driver will be rewarded five points for each position gained during the race (based off how the field is set in Qualifying, NOT how they roll-off the start line)

  • "Over" or "Under" for: Average Speed, Cautions and Race Time.
    • You will receive 60 points for each correct prediction.
Q: How do I see my results?
A: RaceDay Trivia results will be displayed at your site immediately after the conclusion of the game. For your overall results and to see how your predictions fared, checkout your player page at Buzztime. (Note: Results you see immediately following the race will be considered unofficial until the day after when modification will be made if necessary and scores re-tabulated.)

Q: What happens when drivers are sent to the back of the field before the race?
A: So everyone is on an even playing field, once the Qualifying order is set, that's the order we stick to for the game. If Tony Stewart qualifies 1st, but is sent to the back of the pack for changing his engine, for the purposes of RaceDay, he's still in position #1 (so don't pick him to be the driver to gain the most positions).

Q: Are we picking the driver or the car?
A: Technically, all predictions are the car number. Many times a different driver qualifies a car than who will drive it in the race, so you're actually picking the car number when making your selections, regardless of who drives it.

Q: What happened to the Scheduled Prediction Show that ran during the prerace coverage?
A:
The Scheduled Prediction Show has been removed, however you can still play the same game as before on your Playmaker anytime after qualifying has concluded, or have you can have your site start-up the traditional 30-minute On-Demand game to play on the network at your location.

Q: How does my site play RaceDay Trivia?
A:
Your site can either select RaceDay Trivia game from the On-Demand menu for 2pm ET/ 11am PT or contact Customer Service to get on the Race Day Trivia Opt-In list so the show will begin as default at your site on Saturday of race weekends.
