After 7 weeks of intense competition, we have finally crowned our Smartest Bar 2016 Champion.  Every Wednesday from August 10-September 21, players at each location joined forces to fight for their bar in this ultimate trivia battle.

Congrats are in order for Heroes Sports Bar & Grill of Wichita, KS.  Finishing with 65,575 points, they battled Buzztime locations all across the nation to secure the title of Buzztime’s Smartest Bar. Rounding out the Top 3 was Teaser’s Pub of Chicago, IL in Second Place (with 65,253 points) and Sinclair’s Cloverdale of Montgomery, AL in Third Place (with 64,001 points).  Notable players, and Smartest Bar MVPs, enjoyed the spotlight as well. Shout out to “AV,” “BOBO,” and “DMC” who brought their A-game as the highest scoring participants for the First through Third Place locations, respectively.

Exploring weekly themes, including “Kings and Queens,” “Comedies,” and “Football,” Smartest Bar was a great way for players to demonstrate their brain power on a number of different trivia categories while competing for some great prizes! Heroes earned $1,000, Teaser’s brought home $500, and Sinclair’s won $250 in gift cards.  They also received a trophy for their location and medals for their players to showcase their Smartest Bar pride loud and clear!

Excitement levels remained high throughout the competition- many locations and players posted pictures of their teams before game night, some of which we even shared on our national Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts using hashtag #SmartestBar. In fact, there were over 380 player and location shares/posts on social media referencing Smartest Bar.

It is no surprise then that overall gameplay increased by 21.19% in the first week alone, and more than 1,000 Buzztime locations endured the six week qualifying rounds!
