NTN Buzztime Launches New “Trivia for Cash” Competition; Awarding $8,000 to the Nation’s Best Trivia Players
CARLSBAD, Calif., November 30, 2018 – On Saturday, December 1st, NTN Buzztime, Inc. (NYSE American: NTN) is kicking off a new competition: Trivia for Cash. On Saturday and Tuesday evenings in December, registered Buzztime players can compete in a 30-minute game of trivia – there are eight total games, each worth $1,000. The player with the highest score wins $1,000. In the event of a tie, the $1,000 prize will be split between the high scorers.
“Trivia for Cash was created to simultaneously meet multiple objectives for Buzztime: reward existing players, attract new ones, increase foot traffic and revenue at the 2,600+ Buzztime locations, and provide advertisers with expanded reach and engagement,” said Ram Krishnan, NTN Buzztime CEO.
Trivia for Cash is the ultimate challenge for trivia players as it’s a game of skill, not chance. The competition will reward the current 10 million registered Buzztime players with a chance to join a high-stakes competition, show off their trivia skills, and potentially win $1,000. The high-stakes competition will also attract new players and grow the Buzztime player base. To compete in Trivia for Cash, players must first register to join the Buzztime Nation – giving partner locations an opportunity to build their player base.

These locations will benefit from a consistent boost in foot traffic and more opportunities for increased revenue throughout December,” added Krishnan.
Buzztime’s digital-out-of-home (DOOH) advertising partners should also see a lift in impressions throughout the competition as their brand is shown on 15,000 screens and 65,000 Android tablets. Players are viewing these ad messages when they’re immersed in gameplay for a chance to win $1,000 – improving brand engagement for advertisers.
